YES! I already went for the show! The first night at Grand Theatre, I was there with my colleague and it is AMAZING! Their performance really WOW me and I wanted to shout "Bravo!" :D
I read the book in my secondary school. Well it is one of the books we can read for our literature classes. My secondary picked The Pearl or whatever instead of this. Well my friend from another school have the book and she lent me it. Anyway my favorite novel in my time is... The Prisoner of Zenda. :) I think it's my Secondary Three novel.
Later I watched the movie version, The Phantom of the Opera (2004), where they have Gerard Butler as the Phantom! I have the soundtracks and I love the songs. I think it's both the story line and the songs that attract me. Andrew Lloyd Webber is really a genius!

When I was at the theatre and I listen to the orchestra and the actors singing, I was like WOW. Totally mind-blowing. Also the stage effects are so cool. The little details of their facial expression. The choreography. AMAZING.
I think this is like a once-in-a-lifetime thing. But I don't mind to go and watch it again!
Oh also, the Grand Theatre is not as big as I thought. So my seat was at row R but I can see pretty clear.
Also at the end when all actors came out to bow at the audiences, the first who received cheers is Carlotta. Then the last one who showed up, of course is the main character, the Phantom. Everyone was like "woooooooooo!" and from everything he did, like a bow and a simple hand gesture, it's so charming and I was like "He IS the Phantom of the Opera".
In conclusion, it's AWESOME! It's worth the money!

One of the prop at the top center of the stage - there's one part where the Phantom hides on it and it slowly goes up. - by SUPERADRIANME on Flickr. Source |
(Since I didn't have my phone I couldn't take photos. My colleague took some and I have to get them from him when I have my phone back. Also we weren't allowed to take pictures during the play so we just took some stage photos and so.)
P/s: Later I found these photos on Flickr and that was the one I went for (at Singapore, MasterCard Theaters). I recognize the face of Christine!
